EUROVIA — Leading Europe’s Collaborative Future
Derya Soysal
Purpose and Institutional Role
Eurovia is a European Parliament–accredited non-profit dedicated to shaping Europe’s future through innovation, collaboration, and integration. With an influential voice in Brussels’ bureaucratic and diplomatic corridors, the organisation works to weave influence into the fabric of European policy and to help steer the Union’s shared future. Eurovia participates in meetings and stakeholder exchanges at the European Parliament and the European Commission, acting as the voice of nations to make the European Union stronger, wealthier, mightier, greener, safer, and smarter.
Its broad, pan-European network—ministries, Members of the European Parliament, public organisations, prime ministers’ offices, private enterprises, non-profits, universities, and European Commissioners—enables Eurovia to convert priorities into concrete action across the continent.
Founders of Eurovia
Founded by Oguzhan Ari, Eurovia reflects the vision and dedication of a leader deeply committed to Europe’s future. Educated at KU Leuven with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in European Affairs, Ari combines strong expertise in project development, international collaboration, visionary leadership, European history, and the origins and development of European integration. During his academic journey at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, he founded and led an international student association that helped students integrate quickly into Europe’s complex environment and contribute meaningfully to the Union’s social, cultural, economic, and academic life.
Acting as a lobbyist at the European Parliament, Oguzhan Ari actively voices his views—together with those of Europe’s citizens—to advance policies that make Europe a stronger, more inclusive, and better place for its people.
“The question is not who you are, but who your team is.”
Guided by this maxim, Eurovia proudly highlights the strength of its highly skilled and diverse team. Comprising EU officers, policy advisers, lawyers, and engineers, the organisation has built a capacity-driven team of professionals dedicated to shaping Europe’s future—together. Aligned with its mission to be the voice of all Europe, Eurovia brings together experts of Belgian, German, Italian, Romanian, Dutch, and French background, fostering a truly pan-European spirit that reflects the Union’s unity in diversity.
Pan-European Engagements (Step by Step)
Eurovia’s role in European public life is evidenced through a series of high-level engagements:
- Europe Day Conference & Reception at the Permanent Representation to the EU, in partnership with KU Leuven and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—keynotes, interactive exchanges, and Erasmus+ testimonials on integration and education.
- Parliamentary Briefings & Stakeholder Meetings with MEP offices on education, research, and innovation priorities at the European Parliament.
- Commission-Focused Policy Dialogues linked to Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and cross-border cooperation.
- Academic–Policy Interface Events with universities (including KU Leuven, VUB, ULB) to align research outputs with EU programmes and funding pathways.
- Participation to investors’ event at the European Commission, with contribution to raise in the funding for SMEs (small-medium sized enterprises)
Outcome: these engagements confirm Eurovia’s role as a trusted convenor and bridge-builder, aligning education, research, and policy to deliver tangible benefits across Europe.
Europe Day — Diplomacy, Integration, Education
Eurovia’s commitment to Europe is more than principle; it is practice. For Europe Day, Eurovia organised and sponsored a high-level event at the Permanent Representation to the European Union, in cooperation with KU Leuven and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The audience brought together ambassadors, senior European Parliament representatives, NATO officials, local government leaders, media professionals, cultural-organisation directors, and international students from across Europe.
In keeping with Eurovia’s mission to foster integration and educational opportunity, the programme featured Erasmus+ testimonials by Samy Addahri (Belgium), Alexandru Niculescu (Romania), Beatriz Santos Mayo (Spain), and Thomas Germenot (France)—first-hand accounts of cross-cultural learning, academic development, and personal growth. Keynotes (including remarks by Oguzhan Arı), interactive discussions, and high-level networking followed, demonstrating Eurovia’s capacity to shape integration and strengthen Europe’s shared future.

Erasmus+ Mobility and Exposure to EU Institutions
Beyond technology, Eurovia demonstrates operational excellence in Erasmus+ mobility: full-cycle management of projects, logistics, internships, and cultural integration for international participants. A recent collaboration with a National Agency brought students to Belgium for hands-on training in renewable energy, coupled with curated cultural programmes in Brussels, Bruges, and Ghent. In line with its mission to connect education with policy, Eurovia also invited these students to the European Parliament for an official guided tour—a first-hand introduction to how the Union functions and a catalyst for civic engagement.
Cultural Cooperation and Career Pathways
Eurovia’s commitment to integration extends to close cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, elevating pressing issues to the policy agenda. Through fully funded projects supported by the ministry, Eurovia builds bridges between national and international students, promoting collaboration and mutual understanding across Europe. In another flagship initiative, the organisation connected veteran professionals with high-school and university students to help them build career pathways—adding value to Europe’s social, cultural, and economic environment.
From Partnering to Coordinating EU Projects
Starting from project partnerships, Eurovia has matured into a full partner or coordinator across major EU programmes:
Horizon Europe – Research & Innovation • Erasmus+ – Education, Youth & Sport • Creative Europe – Culture & Media • LIFE Programme – Environment & Climate Action • AMIF – Asylum, Migration & Integration.
